Gram's Place Hostel features two old Tampa cottages, circa 1945, shaded by ancient Oak trees laced with Spanish moss.  Embellished with quaint walkways, porches, courtyards with waterfalls, palms, Flowers and vines.

The Crow's Nest (The Stairway to Heaven) is our secret 2nd and 3rd level decks for walking in the trees. You can watch birds, stargaze or watch our space shuttle take off. It is also the ideal place for a smoke break.

All rooms

All rooms contain Air Conditioning, Heating, Cable TV and AM/FM alarm clock radios with cassette players. Telephone and a book on the genre of roots music with a cassette tape to hear the artists that are displayed on the walls or in old time window panes. We also place comment books to read past guests’ comments and for you to leave a comment for future guests, if desired.

Assistance

At any time should a guest have a question or problem 24/7, you just pick up the phone and dial 22 for assistance in your room or both courtyards.

Breakfast

Continental breakfast is not included any longer! :(  

But every guest is welcome to bring their ow food and prepare it in one of our TWO fully equipped self-service kitchens! Also, "Dine One One" will deliver food from 40 different restaurants within the hour (any style food desired), nicely priced, to be consumed outside in the courtyards or at Parson's Pub..

Outdoors

We have 2 courtyards.

One is quiet with no music and a Soda machine, hammock, small water fall, red phone box (on Gram Straat), 2 tables with umbrellas and a porch with a covered tin roof with plenty of porch fans.

Both courtyards are surrounded by tropical plants, flowers, vines and quaint brick walkways. The walk way connecting the two houses is called "Gram Straat" (Straat is Street in Dutch).

The other courtyard has an oversized Jacuzzi whirlpool (not heated) with sunning deck, outside shower, toilette and BYOB (Parson's Pub) courtyard bar, wrap around porch with tin roof with plenty of porch fans, quaint brick walkways, tables & chairs

We are European minded and our oversized in-ground Jacuzzi, the courtyard Waterfalls and several lazy day hammocks are inviting to meet & great other guests. The music level provides a perfect atmosphere for conversation 24/7. The strains of Jazz, Blues, Folk (Celtic), Country, Rock & Roll, Big Band, Reggae, Classical,... fills the air.

Please note: Noise and activity in the Courtyard by the Jacuzzi , BYOB bar and CD player, DOES NOT disturb guest in the rooms!

Smoking

ALL ROOMS ARE NON SMOKING!

SMOKING is OK in our courtyards and upper level boardwalks up to the crows nest.

Guests are encouraged to bring: Tapes, CD's & Musical Instruments. On site are two piano's, Full drum set, right and left handed electric/acoustic, bass, & 6 string guitars etc.

Jam sessions do happen from time to time. This is a fun relaxing place!

Other Amenities

FREE Internet access is available for guests with portable computers.

A PC with internet access can be booked for $2 per hour.

The big common area for all guests has a Fireplace, Piano and Cable TV with VCR.

MUSIC at Gram's Place:

The music and ambience will transport you back in time with recordings from the 1920's to present day. At our Courtyard BYOB Bar and Jacuzzi area, Our CD player has 400 plus classic CD's including many box sets of the greats. From The Greats of Jazz, Blues, Folk (& Celtic), Country, Rock&Roll, Big Band, Reggae to Classical, etc. Loaded and ready to play! All listed in a MUSIC MENU to view, ready at your finger tips 24/7 to set the mood you want in your room or either courtyard.

Our CD player can be heard on any FM radio on the property as well as driving by in the car within a 2 block radius. Just like having your own private FM radio station: WGPA at 102.9 FM. We have good music all the time.

For Travelling Musicians and Music lovers; Jam sessions are encouraged for good quality fun.  Guitars (left and right handed), Piano and other instruments on site. 

Guests are encouraged to bring: Tapes, CD's & Musical Instruments. On site is 2 piano's, Full drum set, right and left handed electric/acoustic, bass, & 6 string guitars etc.

Jam sessions do happen from time to time. 

Pets are permitted in containers on our porches but not in Rooms.
